Oxygen Sensor: Service and Repair

HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR (HO2S) REMOVAL / INSTALLATION 4.0L Engine








Removal and Installation
1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. See LIFTING.

NOTE: If necessary, lubricate the HO2S with lock lubricant to assist in removal.




2. Using the Exhaust gas oxygen sensor socket SST, remove the HO2S.

Tightening torque: 40 Nm {4.1 kgf-m, 30 ft-lbf}

NOTE: Apply a light coat of anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the HO2S.

3. To install, reverse the removal procedure.
